At the International School of The Hague, Primary, we are always looking for Cover Teachers.

Please note that in order to work for us, you would require a Bachelor in Primary Education or PCGE plus QTS (or equivalent). You should reside close to our school (The Hague) and be permitted to work in the European Union. 

The position is based on a flexible contract according to the Dutch collective labour agreement (CAO) for primary education, scale LA.

Application Process

All applications for current vacancies should be submitted online.  Applicants are required to complete an online profile and supporting statement and upload a CV.  

Applicants must provide details of three referees, of which one must be their most recent employer.  If shortlisted, we will contact referees prior to interview.  

All applications will be acknowledged within three working days of submission.  If short-listed, interviews will be conducted by Skype or in person, depending on the nature of the position and the applicant's location.

Qualifications

Please know that in order to work for us, you must be a fully qualified teacher in accordance with the standards required by the Dutch Education Authorities (DUO). Successful candidates require: 

  • For all applicants to ISH Primary, a Bachelors Degree will suffice to be considered. However, all ISH Secondary applicants will need a Bachelor plus a Masters Level qualification in Education. 
  • For applicants from the UK, you will have completed the PGCE and been awarded QTS plus successful completion of the NQT induction year.
  • For all applicants to ISH Secondary, your qualifications at either Bachelor or Masters level must also clearly indicate the subject that you are applying to teach in, in order to be recognised by DUO.
