Job Description (.pdf format)

KOLEJ TUANKU JA’AFAR is one of the premier international schools in Malaysia, with 950 students aged 3 to 19. It first opened as a secondary boarding school in 1991 and the Primary School opened in August 2013 with 71 students and has grown at a good pace.

It now has 180 students with a maximum capacity of 270. This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Primary to take the school into its next phase of development.  The post offers a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate, dynamic and learner-centred leader, who works collaboratively with colleagues and parents. The curriculum is a blend of the National Curriculum for England and Wales and the IPC, suitably enhanced for the Malaysian setting. The facilities are excellent and the primary school benefits from being able to share the outstanding secondary campus.

Applications are encouraged from both experienced leaders. The Head of Primary reports directly to the Principal, who has overall responsibility for the primary and secondary schools.

Package includes:

  • A competitive salary
  • An initial inducement payment
  • Annual flights to point of origin for employee and dependents
  • Free tuition for school aged children
  • Medical insurance
  • Free housing and utilities
  • A generous savings scheme
  • An initial two-year contract, mutually renewable

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful applicant will be subject to security vetting.

Contact details of three referees, which should include your immediate supervisor will be required.  Closing date: 23rd January, 2017.
